Hi! I'm Greg.
I'm a second-generation nonprofit leader. My dad ran nonprofits my whole childhood, and I grew up hearing the same frustrations I now hear from EDs across the sector — the short-term pressure, the overhead obsession, the sense that the model was designed around constraints instead of around impact.
For nine years, I was the ED of CoachArt, a California nonprofit serving kids with chronic and life-threatening illnesses. During that time, I did what every ED does — scoured for what was working, tried to figure out which of the dozens of "you should try this" suggestions actually deserved attention, and tried to build something that lasted beyond the next fundraising cycle.
What I kept finding was fragments. Great ideas in isolation. Organizations doing innovative things in one area but struggling in others. A LinkedIn post here, a podcast episode there, a consulting pitch that solved one problem but ignored the rest. The future-ready nonprofit system was out there — but it was scattered, and nobody was connecting it.
So for the last year, as ED of the Proimpact Project, I've been doing that work full-time. Scouring the sector. Talking to EDs. Testing what I've learned against the reality of running a nonprofit. And building the thing I wish had existed when I started. The Proimpact System isn't another framework imposed from outside. It's a fellow ED's attempt to assemble what's working — and give you a way to apply it to your organization, your mission, your moment.
I hope it's useful. And I hope, when you come out the other side, you have what I wish I'd had nine years ago: a clear vision for where your organization is going, and a plan to fund the transformation.
Thanks for being here.
